Fatigue is a condition that each of us feels at least several times a day. Work, study, training, home chores, driving a car, talking on the phone, and even a complete lack of physical and mental activity can at some point lead to feelings of tiredness. Sometimes, however, the condition of chronic exhaustion lasts for weeks or even months and does not subside after rest and an attempt to relax. We probably have to deal with the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). The etiology of this condition is not fully understood, there are relatively many concepts to explain the mechanisms of CFS development, some of them suggest an indirect correlation with the condition of the intestinal microflora. 

In a four-year, double-blind, controlled pilot study, a group of Canadian scientists decided to give CFS patients two months to administer a preparation containing 24,000,000,000 Lactobacillus casei strains of Shirota (LcS) to assess their therapeutic effects. It turned out that this treatment brought a clear improvement in the participants randomly assigned to the drug group, in the absence of any effects in the placebo group.

Citrulline malate is a combination of citrulline, or amino acid and malic acid, into one molecule. Citrulline is a derivative of another amino acid – ornithine. It is not an amino acid that builds muscle, but it has another important role by participating in the urea cycle, where in the course of metabolism it contributes to the neutralization of toxic ammonia. Malic acid is an organic chemical compound, including in apples and rhubarb. It is a by-product of carbohydrate metabolism. Its ionized form (malate) occurs as an intermediate in the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle). He also participates in energy transformations taking place in every cell. The combination of both mentioned components into one molecule brings significant benefits for athletes and physically active people.

What does citrulline supplementation give you?

Citrulline malate is seen primarily as a supplement increasing the production of nitric oxide. Thus, it improves blood flow to the trained muscle groups. It gives the effect of the so-called muscle pump. However, it is not the only advantage that gives us supplementation with this compound. In addition to the mentioned effect of nitric oxide production, citrulline malate also intensifies the synthesis of creatine, which in combination with malic acid generates significant energy reserves, resulting in greater muscular and aerobic endurance. Scientific research also shows that the use of citrulline malate may reduce the feeling of fatigue. A positive effect on the renal uptake of bicarbonates was also noted, which improved the overall acid-base balance. One of the very interesting studies showed that the use of citrulline malate was associated with a reduction in the severity of muscle pain. So this supplement made the so-called “Sores” were less noticeable. It is worth adding that citrulline malate works synergistically with various forms of arginine. This combination gives even more effective effects of supplementation. Citrulline malate is a safe component. Cobalamin is a complex organic compound whose center is cobalt. Vitamin B12, which is soluble in water, is one of the most important minerals of our body. In addition, it participates in many chemical reactions of our system that occur at the cellular level.

To a large extent, cobalamin is synthesized by the natural bacterial flora of our digestive tract. When mentioning the exogenous sources of this compound, first and foremost, meat products, eggs, fish, dairy products and mushrooms are mentioned.

The use of cobalamin is recommended primarily to people on a vegan diet – due to the fact that the primary source of this compound are meat-based products. What’s more, the most important recipients of this substance are also anorectic, alcoholic and elderly people in whom proper nutrition is neglected.

It also increases resistance to stress and has a calming effect, which is used in the fight against bulbs.
